The Ultimate Aquarium: A definitive Guide to Identifying and Keeping Freshwater and Marine Fishes by Mary Bailey and Gina Sandford

Stars: *****

This truly is the ultimate guide to keeping a freshwater aquarium. Everything is covered, from set-up to upkeep as well as information on all the major groups of freshwater fish. For example under Tetras, it is subcategorized for South American Tetras and African Tetras and then some of the more common types of those tetras are explained. There are LOTS of full colour photographs as well. Although there is a little information on Brackish and Marine Water tanks and fishes, this is just enough to help you decide if you want to learn more about them. It’s not an ultimate guide to Marine Fishes.

It’s a newer book so the information is not outdated and they debunk a few myths that many aquarists believe. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking to learn more about keeping fish as pets.
