My Top 8 Children’s Nonfiction

  1. A Life Like Mine by DK Publishing because it paints a REAL picture of what life is like around the world for other children.
  2. Working Like a Dog by Gena K. Gorrell because it’s a very thorough history of working dogs.
  3. Shakespeare: His Work and His World by Michael Rosen because Shakespeare was brilliant and not enough children know or appreciate him or his work.
  4. One Well: The Story of Water on Earth by Rochelle Strauss because water is something we all take for granted and we should really know more about it.
  5. Smartopedia: The Amazing Book About Everything by Maple Tree Press because although it doesn’t contain EVERYTHING, it has tons of interesting facts shown in interesting ways and is great for nonfiction loving kids to flip through.
  6. Everyone’s Birthday by Marc Kielburger because it doesn’t sugar coat the concept of poverty but doesn’t slam them with depressing information either.
  7. Our Farm: Four Seasons with Five Kids on One Family’s Farm by Michael J. Rosen because it shows city kids what country life is like.
  8. Why Do We Fight? Conflict, War and Peace by Niki Walker because it explains war and related topics to kids in just the right way without being scary or untrue.
About Kathleen

I've been a nonfiction lover for as long as I can remember. I love children's nonfiction as well and love to share my knowledge and the books I gained them from, with the world. I wish more people would give nonfiction a chance.
