Mini-Challenge: Bookish Movies

Here is what we’re doing:
Here is your question: Think of your favorite book – has it been made into a movie? If not (and maybe you’ll need to go to your 2nd favorite book and so on), tell me if you’d like to see it made into a movie and pick one character from the book and give me information on which actor you’d love to see cast in the part. Make your post as fun as possible, tell me why you think the movie would be amazing and why the actor/actress you chose would be perfect in the part!
My favourite book is The Giver by Lois Lowry. As far as I knew it hadn’t been made into a movie but I checked on wikipedia to be sure. It says they’ve been trying to make one for a while but it never got finished and also said:
“A film adaptation has been discussed for quite sometime. According to IMDb, a film is in development with a 2011 release date. Currently, Dustin Hoffman and Jeff Bridges have been linked to the film, but no other actors have been announced”
That would be really cool!
But I’ll pick a different book.
I’d like to see the Sacred Books Series made into movies (once it’s finished.) So far The Book of Nonsense and The Book of Knowledge are out. You can read my review of The Book of Nonsense but I just finished The Book of Knowledge this week. I’m really into it though and I don’t normally like series.
The two main characters in the books are Daphna and Dex. They’re twin 13 year olds.
It was really hard to figure out who I’d cast but I’d go with:
(Yes the boy from Diary of a Wimpy Kid)
This is based on looks mostly as I don’t know them well as actors. They just have the right look.
