Looking at the Moon by Kit Pearson

Stars: ****

This book was read for the 888, Young Adult, Back to History, Book Awards and Reading My Name challenge. This book falls under the Reading my Name challenge because Kit’s real name is Kathleen, like mine.

NOTE: This is the second book in a trilogy. The others are: The Sky is Falling and The Lights Go On Again by Kit Pearson. It is also available in one volume.

In the second book of the trilogy, Norah and Gavin have been in Canada for three years and they are on their way to the summer cottage in Muskoka. Norah, now 13, is having troubles of her own, including a distant cousin of the family she lives with whom she is falling in love with.

I liked this book as I liked all Kit Pearson books I’ve read so far but I preferred The Sky is Falling than this one. This one is more about the complicated life a thirteen year old girl tends to lead. It must be so hard for Norah and Gavin. Gavin, who is now 8, barely remembers home and can’t imagine having to leave his foster family.

I look forward to reading the third and final book in this series.

About Kathleen

I've been a nonfiction lover for as long as I can remember. I love children's nonfiction as well and love to share my knowledge and the books I gained them from, with the world. I wish more people would give nonfiction a chance.
