My Daughter’s 5 Favourite Books

Spread the love
These books are my 21 month old daughter’s top 5 favourite books.

Magic Little Moments Illustrated by Becky Kelly

This is one of those little books that you buy as a gift for someone. It’ s not a kid’s book. It’s a cute poem about treasuring the moments in life but she LOVES it. She points to and says the names of almost everything in the book (we’re talking detailed illustrations here) and she never tires of being read it.

The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle

This is the lift-the-flap version and my daughter can say the name of each animal, the sound it makes and what it wants to do. (e.g. Cow, Moo, Grass (want to eat some grass?)) She “reads” the book to me.

The Grumpy Morning by Pamela Duncan Edwards
Illustrated by Darcia Labrosse

This is a cute story about a farm where the farmer sleeps in and all the animals are upset because they aren’t being fed, milked, played with etc… The sentences rhyme too. (e.g. I heard the goat begin to bleat, “Where are my oats?” and she stamped her feet.)

Halloween Countdown by Jack Prelustky
Illustrated by Dan Yaccarino

This is a board book that counts ghosts from 10 to 1 and the last one say BOO! My daughter loves the Boo part.

I Like Books by Anthony Browne

A cute story about all the different kind of books you can read like comic books, books about space, tall books and books about dinosaurs. I don’t know why she loves this one so much. but she does.
