Booking Through Thursday – Indoctrination

Spread the love

“When growing up did your family share your love of books? If so, did one person
get you into reading? And, do you have any family-oriented memories with books
and reading? (Family trips to bookstore, reading the same book as a sibling or
parent, etc.)”

My mom is/was a book lover although not quite as much as I am. My dad barely ever read and it was mostly magazines or schematics. He has read only a few books since I was born 24 years ago. My brother is more of a reader now than he used to be. He was/is more of a TV/Movie guy.

In late grade school I entered a contest and won a book full of mother and daughter stories. My mom and I started a tradition where every Mother’s Day we sat together and read one of the stories aloud. We took turns reading. It was a wonderful tradition.

About Kathleen

I've been a nonfiction lover for as long as I can remember. I love children's nonfiction as well and love to share my knowledge and the books I gained them from, with the world. I wish more people would give nonfiction a chance.
