Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market Paperback? Don’t know what the difference is between the two paperbacks but I prefer paperbacks.
Amazon or Brick and Mortar? What’s Brick and Mortar?
Barnes & Noble or Borders? I’m Canadian so I go to Chapters
Hitchhiker or Discworld? ???? huh????
Bookmark or Dog ear? Bookmark, I hate it when people dog ear books.
Asimov’s Science Fiction or Fantasy & Science Fiction? Not sure what this means?
Alphabetize by author, Alphabetize by title, or random? None, my books are separated by subject for nonfiction and by author for fiction but not alphabetized.
Keep, Throw Away or Sell? Keep only if I plan on rereading it many more times. Never throw away though, I give to thrift shop or bookmooch.
Keep dust-jacket or toss it? I wouldn’t toss it but sometimes I take it off while reading the book.
Short story or novel? Novel, I don’t like short stories.
Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket? Harry Potter although I’ve never read Lemony Snicket, just seen the one movie.
Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks? when tired…if I have time. both. I stop when I’m tired but I try to make it to a chapter end first.
“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time? Uhh, once upon a time???
Buy or Borrow? Borrow, then I don’t buy a book and end up not liking it. I can always buy myself a copy later if I want one.
Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse? Most of the time I browse but I also have a list of books I’ve seen in book reviews or that have been personally recommended that I plan on reading.
Lewis or Tolkien? Lewis. I liked the Tolkien movies but could never get into the books.
Collection (short stories by the same author) or Anthology (short stories by different authors In general I don’t like short stories unless they are non-fiction in which case anthologies are good.
Tidy ending or Cliffhanger? tidy ending
Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading? Whenever I have time, usually evening
Standalone or Series? I prefer standalone so I don’t have to worry about getting to the next book in the series or waiting anxiously for the next one to come out.
Favorite book of which nobody else has heard? Parrot in the Oven by Victor Martinez.
Top 5 favorite genre books of all time? Hmm, I like all Alice Hoffman’s books but not sure if those are all the same genre or not.
Favorite genre series? I like James Patterson’s Alex Cross Series
