Musing Mondays: Giving Away or Keeping

Spread the love

Today’s Musing Monday is:

“If you keep your books, where do you keep them? And, if you give them away,
who do you give them to? Do you participate in Bookcrossing, BookMooch,
PaperbackSwap, or the like? Do you give your old books to family & friends,
or donate them? Are any of your books in storage due to not having enough space
for them all? Or, are you one of the lucky ones who has their own “library”?
Feel free to share pictures, if you have them!”

I try not to buy books that I just want to read and not keep so my TBR list is bigger than my TBR pile. Why pay money for a book I’ll read once? If it’s not avaiable at the library and I REALLY want to read it I MIGHT buy it.
However I still have lots of books I can give away because of all my ARCs and review books I get. I prefer to give them to friends and family but most of them don’t read or they at least don’t read the books I review. I’d love to hold giveaways on my blog for the rest but I don’t have money. I used to have books on BookMooch but not currently for the same reason. Books I buy from the library book sale go to Canadian Diabetes Association when I’m done with them or any other slightly roughed up book.
I’m considering offering some books for postage costs at Book Obsessed. However I’ve just asked friends and family to send me a detailed list of the kinds of books they read so I’ll go through those and pick out gifts and then list the rest.
