Read-a-thon Hour 1

Spread the love

For Hour 1 we are to fill out the following meme:
Where are you reading from today? : I’m starting with A Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne
3 facts about me … I’m a mom, I’m Canadian and I’m a Girl Guide Leader
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? Well I have a pile of about 8 books that I want to try to read from first but I might change that up.
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? Not any specific goals, just to do better than I did the last time I did the readathon (which was the first one ever.) I eneded up reading for only 12hrs out of 24 because of taking care of kids and checking in and mini-challenges. Problem is I just can’t not say hi to my fellow readers.

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time?

Choose short, easy books so you can say you’ve finished books. For the middle of the night, try reading while walking when you are falling asleep and eating a snack. Take a quick shower in the wee hours to wake yourself up a bit too.

On a side note here are my stats:

Books Finished: 0

Books Started: 1
Pages Read: 43
Time Spent Reading: 30 minutes (had to get kids up and feed them breakfast)

Okay back to reading…
