This book was re-read for the Heart of a Child Challenge.

I remember reading a lot of Amelia Bedelia as a child. The stories combined with the illustrations by Lynn Sweat make this set of books hilarious to both child and adult.

In case you aren’t familiar with Amelia Bedelia, she is a maid for the Rogers family. She tries her very best but she always takes instructions literally. So when she is told to pot the plants, she plants them into cooking pots and when she is told to serve a chicken dinner, she serves cracked corn, which is what chickens eat for dinner.

I found it extremely entertaining as a child and still find it funny as an adult. Highly Recommended.
