Booking Through Thursday – And the Nominee is…

Spread the love

I haven’t participated in BTT lately, not because of my lack of internet access but because I didn’t have anything to say for the topics. But this week I’m back.

“What fiction book (or books) would you nominate to be the best new book
published in 2007?(Older books that you read for the first time in 2007
don’t count.)

What non-fiction book (or books) would you nominate to be the best new
book published in 2007?(Older books that you read for the first time in 2007
don’t count.)

And, do “best of” lists influence your reading?”

I haven’t read a lot of new material. I mostly read older stuff. Almost all (if not all) of the 2007 books I’ve read were review books. I’d probably nominate Have You Found Her: A Memoir by Janice Erlbaum (review to come) as the best non-fiction and either Season of the Witch by Natasha Mostert or Splitting Harriet by Tamara Leigh as the best fiction.

I do look at best of lists but they don’t make that big of a difference in my reading. I’ve read books from best of lists that I couldn’t even finish and read MANY great books not on any best list. (At least not yet.)

About Kathleen

I've been a nonfiction lover for as long as I can remember. I love children's nonfiction as well and love to share my knowledge and the books I gained them from, with the world. I wish more people would give nonfiction a chance.
