Booking Through Thursday – Statistics

Spread the love

The question is:

There was a widely bruited-about statistic reported last week, stating that 1 in 4 Americans did not read a single book last year. Clearly, we don’t fall into that category, but . . . how many of our friends do? Do you have friends/family who read as much as you do? Or are you the only person you know who has a serious reading habit?

As mentioned last week, my mom reads perhaps 10 books a year, my dad not one. My brother reads but don’t know his average (if you’re reading, make an educated guess and let me know in the comments.) My hubby has mostly only ever read Anne Rice and Harry Potter and since they aren’t coming out with anything new, I doubt he’ll crack another book for a year or so. My best friend reads but I don’t know how often. Certainly not like me.

I don’t know anyone else in person that reads like I do. That’s probably why I enjoy the book-blog community so much!
