20th Century Fashion by John Peacock

Spread the love

Preface by Christian LaCroix

Stars: ****

If you want to see colour drawings of fashions from the 20th century, this is the book. Unlike other books, the years aren’t separated into large portions like the 1920’s or 1950’s. It is separated into much smaller sections like 1900-1903 and 1955-1959.

Also it’s not just day wear shown, it’s Couture Wear, Underwear, Leisure Wear, Day Wear, Evening Wear, Bridal Wear and Accessories.

Each drawing lists the clothing designer and year of make. At the end of a decade there is a more explanatory description of each item.

At the end of the book is a chart of development of 20th century fashion and a concise biography of couturiers and designers.
