If You Really Loved Me by Ann Rule

Stars: ****

Another great true crime novel from Ann Rule. She does such a great job of telling the story but that also means it’s very hard to read sometimes. Realizing what human beings are capable of is scary. Ann discusses this concept in her Afterword.

The story is about the murder of Linda Bailey-Brown. Her husband is David Brown and they live together with David’s teenage daughter from a previous relationship, Cinnamon Brown; Linda’s teenage sister Patti Bailey and David’s and Linda’s daughter Krystal. Cinnamon confesses to the murder but is it that simple? David Brown collected almost a million dollars in insurance money and married Patti. Doesn’t seem like a straightforward case to me!

I was riveted by this story and couldn’t put it down and neither will you.
